Umi Boys & Girls Shoe Review Fall 2013 + Giveaway

UMI Children's Shoes
Take a moment to learn more about one of our favorite children's shoe brands, Umi.  Our children have worn Umi brand shoes since before they could walk, and we are now experiencing their shoes with elementary school kids!  We had the opportunity to review a few of their newly released fall styles and we are excited to share with your our thoughts, as well as host a fun giveaway (see below).  Allow us to inform you of all the great attributes this company has to offer!

All Umi products are developed according to the unique needs of a growing child's foot, and having had experience with this brand for over five years now, we can truly attest to this fact.  We have put Umi to the challenge this fall with our Kindergarteners, each day they are wearing their shoes longer than ever, running on the playgrounds and jumping on sidewalks.  In all honesty, Umi has once again impressed us.  Umi shoes are made with three aspects in mind: quality, comfort and style, all of which are definitely noticeable in each pair of shoes.  Umi shoes have exceptional detail in their construction, stitching and designs.  All Umi shoes are manufactured with the finest materials, and specific details of each shoe are shared with each product listed on their site.  In our opinion, we think Umi shoes continue to get better and better each year! It's also worth mentioning that Umi only uses non-toxic drum-dyed leathers and other environmentally friendly components, and yet they are long-lasting and each shoe's color is reliable.
Umi girls shoes range from European sizes 19-38 (US toddler size 4- big kid size 6), we appreciate this wide span of sizing.  In the fall 2013 collection, there are plenty of boots, ballet flats, mary janes, everyday moccasins, and more.  We love the classic fall color mixes of brown, black, silver and dark red.  When selecting a shoe, knowing this is such a durable brand, we opted for a boot that could survive the winter months of trudging to and from school.  Ruthie selected the Umi "Abbie II" in black (pictured above and below), she loved the bold look of the studs and the contrasting leather matte and shine.  Her first response after trying these on and zipping them up was, "I can't wait to walk into my classroom wearing these"!  These are incredibly well made, the construction and substantial feel of the boot (without feeling too heavy) is what stood out to us as we inspected them.  As you can see from the pictures, they are a great everyday boot that matches all types of color schemes and clothing styles.  Ruthie loves wearing these with leggings to put them on display!  This style is also available in a brown and a red, both of which are gorgeous, versatile and fun.  This shoe is a must for your daughter's fall wardrobe!

For the boys styles, the shoe that popped out to us the most was the Hectorr. Right out of the box, this boot radiates quality and style. We have paired them with countless outfits and they always look cool. The Hectorr is made from a super durable suede with a pop of trendy neon laces. If neon is not your thing, they do come with an alternate pair of laces in a neutral color. We simply love how these coordinate with current clothing collections such as the fall/winter Tea Collection items. Below is a photo of Sam having fun in his Hectorr boots (in navy). This is a versatile boot that can be dressed up or down, yet remains comfortable and fun for growing feet. Sam loves these shoes and regularly requests to wear them. You cannot beat the quality and pure craftsmanship that goes into a pair of Umi shoes. The sizing is always just right and our active kids get a ton of use from every pair. There are many other options available, including some dress shoes, boots, sporty sneakers and more. Umi carries a massive size range, so there's a shoe for the smallest baby all the way through adolescence!

Umi also has their "Clearance" section stocked with spring/summer styles released earlier this year, so it's a great time to grab Umi footwear at a discount.  Umi provides free shipping and returns on all orders too (excluding clearance).

Umi Shoes would like to give away one pair of shoes to a lucky Seattle Moms Deal Finder reader!  If you would like to win one pair of Umi shoes, leave us a comment stating which shoes you would select from their website!  We will select a winner on December 1st, 2013.  For additional entries, you may complete any of the following (leaving us a separate comment for each please):
